What is Botulinum Toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is widely used in both medical and aesthetic treatments. In aesthetics, it helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful look. Medically, botulinum toxin is used to treat conditions such as chronic migraines, muscle spasms, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and overactive bladder.

Aesthetic Uses:

  • Reducing forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and frown lines.
  • Lifting the brow or enhancing facial symmetry.
  • Treating gummy smiles and jaw slimming.

Medical Uses:

  • Managing chronic migraines.
  • Controlling muscle stiffness or spasms in conditions like cerebral palsy or multiple sclerosis.
  • Treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
  • Addressing conditions like overactive bladder and drooling (sialorrhea).
